Misc. Notes
When Adeline E Pratt died in the spring of 1872, her husband, Truman Porter of Ticonderoga New York was left with 5 children, the youngest being a 12 year old son.
It was shortly afterwards that Marguerite Beauchamp of Grenville, Quebec arrived in Ticonderoga.
By the end of 1873, Truman was married to Marguerite.
They lived on his farm near Ticonderoga, where their only child, Annie Elizabeth was born in September of 1874.
When Truman died in the spring of 1884, the children of his first wife were old enough to be on their own and Marguerite returned to the Grenville area with her 10 year old daughter.
She soon found shelter for herself and her daughter when she accepted the position of housekeeper and caregiver for the ailing Phebe Brow, wife of Stewart Walker.
She continued as housekeeper, after the death of Phebe in the spring of 1886.
On August 14, 1888, she married Stewart Walker.
The only child of this marriage, Laura Charity was born a year later.
Marguerite was quite frail herself by the time her first child, Annie, died in 1908.
Her only surviving child, Laura, took care of her until Marguerite died in 1921.
